for later’. The edition feels wonderful in the hands and the font, layout, and illustrations give a huge sensory enhancement to the reading experience. One day, I would love to publish a special edition of The Lost Valor of Love so readers can have a similar experience. But for now, I’m enjoying living in Jane Austin’s imagination. Thank god for Jane.

You can order your copy from The Folio Society here.

<a Snowman, known as Jimmy before mankind was overwhelmed by a plague, is struggling to survive in a world where he may be the last human, and mourning the loss of his best friend, Crake, and the beautiful and elusive Oryx whom they both loved. In search of answers, Snowman embarks on a journey–with the help of the green-eyed Children of Crake–through the lush wilderness that was so recently a great city, until powerful corporations took mankind on an uncontrolled genetic engineering ride. Margaret Atwood projects us into a near future that is both all too familiar and beyond our imagining.” - Goodreads

Get your copy <a I was absorbed in the story from the first page. We don’t get easily situated as a reader, so there is a little waiting for the dust to settle to make sense of Snowman’s world. We move from a dying yet controlled pre-collapse world to a post-collapse world where everyone is dead, except (at least it seems to us and our narrator) Snowman.","cta":"Read full story","showBylines":true,"size":"md","isEditorNode":true,"title":"Oryx and Crake","publishedBylines":[{"id":78737725,"name":"E A Carter","bio":"I’m Elizabeth Anne Carter (aka E A Carter), a writer and thinker who’s obsessed with exploring love, the unknown, and what it means to be mortal in a fleeting world.
